mowchi street food

Inspired by ‘mochi,’ the beloved Japanese rice cake dessert, Mowchi captures the spirit of Asian street food and desserts while embracing contemporary coffee culture and trends. Mowchi is more than just a café; it's a lifestyle

We began our journey in the Midlands with a simple yet ambitious dream: to create a space where specialty coffee, premium matcha, and Asian fusion come together in perfect harmony. Our minimalist, cosy cafés are inspired by the vibrant street food culture of East Asia, offering you more than just great food and drink; it’s a place to relax, connect, and feel right at home.

At Mowchi, we believe food should be fun, fresh, and full of personality. That's why our menu is crafted with love and care, blending traditional flavours with a modern twist. From our frothy, creamy iced matcha to our specialty coffees and our playful, signature drinks, every item is designed to delight your taste buds and lift your spirits.

Since opening our first cosy café in the Midlands, we've steadily expanded into London and beyond opening stores up north, across London, and in buzzing city centres nationwide. With key locations such as Camden, Wembley Park, Nottingham, Soho, Leicester and more, we're proud to be growing into one of the UK's most exciting new café brands.

Our aim is to finish 2026 with 30 thriving locations, each one carrying the same warmth, flavour, and spirit that makes Mowchi unique.

“What really drew me to Mowchi was how unique it is. I've always been a lover of Japanese food, especially bao buns, and | would go all the way to Chinatown just to get that taste. With Mowchi, | knew | could bring that same experience closer to home.

Asian food and drinks is on the rise, and people are looking for something different. In a normal café, you'll get a standard sandwich on bread. At Mowchi, you get something exciting, fresh, and full of personality. That's what makes it so special and that’s why | wanted to be part of the journey.”

Franchisor Interview
Interview with Syeda Kayanath, Franchisor of Mowchi

Syeda Kayanath has a lot of experience in hospitality as well as working with brands to develop their business and identity, so much so that she decided to use that experience to create a business of her own, Mowchi. “Mowchi was everything that represented me but also related to many consumers in this generation, a clean, sleek and minimal bubble tea brand with a unique USP of food and frozen yoghurt making Mowchi an entire experience.”
