Banners Show Support for International C

na

As part of the build up to the Make Poverty History rally on 2nd July, Signs Express (Glasgow) are providing in excess of 400 banners to SCIAF supporters in schools and parishes across Scotland. And the banners have proved so popular that SCIAF’s own banner was stolen ahead of the march next week.

SCIAF is the overseas relief and development agency of the Catholic Church in Scotland and chairs the Scottish Make Poverty History Coalition. The banners are part of packs that the agency has prepared to raise awareness of the campaign and to encourage the local community to get involved.

Each banner supplied by Signs Express (Glasgow) is 2.5m wide and includes the message ‘Make Poverty History’ and the SCIAF logo. The banners are being used by schools at the rally or to drum up support for the campaign in local parish areas by being fixed to school gates or as part of their own supporting activities.

Signs Express centre owner, Neil Fraser said, “It’s such an important and well publicised event, we were delighted to be involved. The banners each have their school or parish details on them so each banner is localized to individual groups and everyone can show their support for the cause”.

Ian Menzies, SCIAF Schools Officer said, “Its so exciting to see how schools have responded to the campaign. SCIAF has produced an ImaGin8ion resource jammed packed full of practical and fun things pupils can do in the run up to the rally to raise awareness and encourage their local community to get involved.”

Signs Express (Glasgow) has been established for over 10 years and provides all forms of signage from interior and exterior signs to vehicle graphics, banners and window graphics. They work with many local and national company’s including Slater Menswear, Iron Mountain, Strathclyde Police and various local Councils.
