Franchising is on the Rise in Scotland

The Scottish Franchise Group (SFG), Scottish arm of the British Franchise Association (BFA), is delighted with the ongoing success of its franchise workshops.

Free workshops have been running in Central Scotland to help increase awareness of franchising as the safest route to starting your own business. So far, over 400 prospective franchisees have attended, with many going on to start their own franchise, including companies such as Cartridge World, Mail Boxes Etc, Jo Jingles, Mr Electric, Rainbow International and Prontaprint.

A recent survey conducted by Scottish Enterprise, highlighted that satisfaction levels amongst attendees were extremely high with all attendees finding the information invaluable in helping them to decide if franchising is the right way into business for them. Over 96.9% were still interested in going into business on their own, and 93.8% were still considering franchising as an option.

The workshops and other initiatives from SFG, such as Franchise First - awareness day held in Livingston in May - have contributed greatly to the boost of franchising in Scotland.

Graham Mylchreest, MD of Apollo Blinds and Chairman of the Scottish Franchise Group commented, "We are absolutely delighted with the huge demand for places, and the interest franchising has attracted in Scotland.

"It is clear that there is considerable enthusiasm from the Scottish workforce to find a tried and tested method of getting into business. What's more, many of the delegates are amazed at the range of well known brands that are actively seeking franchisees in Scotland."
