Scotland is a country known worldwide for its beauty and tradition. And despite its geographical size, it tends to attract attention above what our size might ordinarily warrant. We are a country fascinated by the past, but equally one that looks to the future and new opportunities. And franchising in Scotland is no different.

Scotland annual turnover from franchising is valued at £800m, generated by over 2,200 businesses, with more than 32,000 employees.

In recent years we have seen the emergence of well-known international brands choosing Scotland to help launch and expand their UK operation including Five Guys, Dennys, Krispy Kreme, Tim Hortons and Flip out. GDK, Glasgow-based business, has also had considerable success over the past few years, with restaurants in most key towns and cities in the UK; a great example of how successful Scottish franchise businesses can be.

Whilst franchising provides a strong source of opportunity here in Scotland, there is still massive potential for growth as only 39% of franchise systems represented in the region. Now is a great time to look at franchising in Scotland.
