Edinburgh entrepreneur Keith Lamb is aiming to scale the heights of his new business venture by launching a professional oven valeting franchise in the City.
Former industrial abseiler, Keith, 45, has launched his Ovenu business to serve homes across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
Ovenu's valeting process is popular with householders across the UK, taking the pain out of one of the most hated and neglected chores. Since 1994 Ovenu’s UK-wide network of 100 franchisees have cleaned more than one million ovens, microwaves, and barbeques.
Its environmentally-friendly valeting service involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered equipment, which uses non-caustic products to clean the oven parts.
The whole process takes around three hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
Originally from North Yorkshire, Keith moved to Edinburgh after marrying his wife Angela, who is from the City. Despite living in Scotland, Keith travelled to London for several years to work as an industrial abseiler.
The profession involves scaling tall buildings to carry out maintenance or decoration projects saving the need for scaffolding in areas of restricted access.
As an Ovenu franchisee, Keith can now fulfil his work/life balance ambition by being able to live and work in Edinburgh full-time.
Keith said: "I couldn’t think of a better place to live and work than Edinburgh and I felt it was time to move to the city full-time. I spent a lot of time researching franchise opportunities as I wanted the freedom to become my own boss, but with the support of a larger organisation.
