Multi-unit Home Instead franchisee, Fatta Thappa has been named a Great British Franchisee 2023.

Fatta stood out to the judges for his combination of strong multi-franchising skills and commitment to the local community.

In just seven years Fatta has successfully established two flourishing Home Instead franchises in London employing over 130 members of staff.  Alongside this, Fatta has made a long-term commitment to elderly residents in his local area by opening a Companionship Café, where he regularly volunteers in his free time.

“It is a huge honour to have been recognised as a Great British Franchisee,” commented Fatta.  “I have built a flourishing home care franchise alongside my wife Sonia, which provides invaluable support to local elderly residents. Everyone we employ shares our company vision and values and has a genuine desire to offer the very best support for our wonderful home care clients.  I have a genuine passion for community and home care and aim every day to inspire and encourage my team to match my enthusiasm.”

Home Instead UK is a national home care provider which specialises in providing care and companionship in the home for older people. It also delivers specialist dementia care, Parkinson’s care, end-of-life and respite care.  The company has over 250 franchise offices caring for over 17,000 clients across the UK.

Ruth Brown, COO of Home Instead commented: “Since joining the franchise in 2015, Fatta’s commitment to the company has been outstanding.  From the outset he fully immersed into the brand and demonstrated a genuine passion for the elderly community in which he has built his franchise.

“Such are Fatta’s natural skills as a business leader that he was invited to become part of Home Instead’s internal leadership team.  Fatta is hugely admired by his employees and fellow franchisees and is always available to offer advice and support to new franchisees as they establish their businesses.  Congratulations Fatta on this hugely deserved win.”

The Great British Franchisee Awards recognise outstanding franchisees regardless of the sector they work in or the size of their business. The judges look at each franchisee and how they perform across a range of categories; exceptional performance and business experience, ability to drive business growth, staff retention, customer satisfaction, community involvement, inspired leadership, and franchise involvement.

The Great British Franchisee Awards 2023 are run by whichfranchise, supported by Lloyds Bank, BDO, AMO Consulting, Worldpay from FIS and Chantry Group.
