New Tech Classes Bring Digital Skills Boost for Buckinghamshire Kids

Children, schools and businesses have welcomed the arrival of ComputerXplorers South Buckinghamshire's new tech clubs and computing classes, which are bringing digital skills to children across South Buckinghamshire.

Owner David Reilly launched ComputerXplorers South Buckinghamshire this summer.

He is on a mission to equip local children with the tech skills they'll need as part of the workforce of the future. So far, he has already partnered with five local schools to deliver curriculum-aligned computing lessons and after-school clubs for children ages 3 to 16.

Over the summer holidays, local children gained hands-on experience in coding, app-building, robotics and 3D animation by attending school holiday clubs run by David and his specialist team.

In his new role, David draws on over a decade of experience as a business owner, educator, and as a parent. He previously ran both a digital marketing agency and digital training agency before supporting local businesses with the adoption of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and virtual reality, in a role with Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

David also brings teaching experience thanks to his role delivering digital strategy and innovation lectures for MBA students at Buckinghamshire New University.

Working closely with schools and businesses, David saw firsthand the growing gap between employer expectations and opportunities for children to develop essential digital skills.

As he researched the issue, David came across ComputerXplorers. He was impressed by its mission to prepare kids for a technology-driven future through interactive and inclusive after-school sessions, weekend academies, holiday camps and in-school lessons.

"I've always believed in the power of technology to unlock potential. After a decade working in digital and training others, I realised we should be working to build skills and spark creativity even earlier," says David.

"This is more than a business to me. It's about making a meaningful difference to young people's futures and helping them succeed in a digital world."

David has been blown away by the response from local schools and the business community to his new venture. After school clubs, breakfast clubs, inset day and holiday camps are already up and running at schools in the area. From Saturday October 11th ComputerXplorers South Buckinghamshire will launch a new Weekend Tech Academy at St Thomas Church, Beaconsfield.

As demand grows, David plans to bring more teachers into the business, so he can reach more local children.

"The feedback I consistently heard from local employers was that many young people are entering the workforce without the core digital skills they need," David explains.

"I'm fortunate to be in a position to help bridge the gap, and we do that with enthusiastic teachers and playful learning experiences that develop real-world skills."

Stuart Harley, Franchise Director at ComputerXplorers, said: "From our first conversation, it was clear how David's experience and drive aligned with our mission at ComputerXplorers. His passion for tech and understanding of the future of work make him an extremely valuable addition to our ComputerXplorers family. We look forward to working with him to bring our classes to more schools and children in the area."
