Greensleeves deepens UK footprint with three new franchisees

Greensleeves Lawn Care, the UK's number one trusted lawn care provider, is deepening its footprint in the UK with its latest three new franchisees. With franchises now covering all corners of the UK, from Scotland to the south coast of England, the horticultural franchise is rapidly expanding its network of over 100 locations to meet the growing demand for its services.

Kevin Lynagh of Greensleeves Stirling, Joe Holland of Greensleeves West Bournemouth and Kristy Norris of Greensleeves Somerset have recently completed two weeks of comprehensive training to prepare them for their new franchise journeys. With a stint at Head Office, and with their respective Business Development Managers (BDM), the trio covered all aspects of operations, finances, marketing and lawn care products.

Stirlingshire born-and-bred franchisee Kevin Lynagh swapped his senior role as an educator in Saudi Arabia to buy a Greensleeves franchise. “With my green fingers and love of the outdoors, I was determined to find a new career which first and foremost wasn’t office-based. After 20 years of working abroad, I then looked into franchising as I wanted to work for myself, although not particularly by myself. Franchising ticked all the boxes. Prior to my investment, I worked with my neighbouring franchisee who gave me first-hand insight into how the franchise model works… and the rest is history. Although I am only at the start of my journey, I feel like I’ve definitely made the right decision and aim to build a legacy for my children.”

Joe Holland is equally determined to make a success of his new Greensleeves franchise in West Bournemouth. Coming from the public sector, Joe wanted a complete career change where he could work for himself but with some support as he didn’t have the knowledge or experience. “I explored several franchise opportunities before deciding on Greensleeves, and then once I did my research, I knew immediately they were the brand for me. They were very responsive and helpful from the outset and gave me access to the franchisees in the network. This was so invaluable as it indicated that the brand was strong, and I wanted to be part of it. The training at Head Office and with the BDM was very extensive, giving me the confidence I need to run the business both operationally and on a day-to-day basis. I can proudly say that I have even generated customers in my first week of trading!”

Previously a company-owned location, Kristy Norris has taken over the reins of Greensleeves in Somerset and is now building on her existing customer base of 450, two branded vans and a lawn manager. “Having worked for three decades in sales and operation roles in the food industry, where I was on the road a lot of the time, I felt I needed a change of direction where I could do a job which was fulfilling and local. Franchising appealed to me as it is a model that offered a clear pathway to business ownership with its proven systems, established brands, and ongoing support. Greensleeves was available in my area, so I jumped at the opportunity and bought the franchise. I’m really excited about the future of my new franchise and to see how I can expand our services across Somerset,” commented Kristy.

Cheryl Harper, Managing Director of Greensleeves, added: “2024 is already proving to be a promising year for Greensleeves and highlights our continued commitment and determination to grow our network in the UK. I’m really proud to welcome our three new franchisees to the family and to bring the Greensleeves brand to their local communities. With spring approaching fast, they have joined the network at a great time and will be able to fully immerse themselves in their businesses, helping to improve and maintain the quality of lawns for their customers.”
