Snap Fitness racks up five British Franchise Association Awards nominations
UK’s fastest-growing gym franchise shortlisted in five categories at the ‘Oscars of franchising’
Following a record-breaking year, Snap Fitness and some of its leading franchisees have been nominated in five categories at the 2025 BFA Awards.
Snap Fitness was recognised across both franchisor and franchisee categories and reflect the brand’s continued momentum in the UK fitness franchise sector. Over the past 12 months, it has grown its membership base by over 18% versus a 5.4% fitness industry average (2025 State of the UK Fitness Industry Report).
On the franchisor side, Snap Fitness has been nominated for the Research & Development award, following the successful rollout of its enhanced in-gym experience, particularly its new signature S7 group exercise classes.
Snap Fitness has also been shortlisted in the Franchise Support category, acknowledging the company’s comprehensive support structure. With over 80% of its franchise partners investing with no prior gym ownership experience, the nomination highlights the brand’s expert Support Office team and efforts to make fitness franchising more accessible, regardless of a franchisee's background or industry experience.
In the franchisee categories, Kunal Patel leads the way with two personal nominations. As a multi-unit operator with five high-performing Snap Fitness locations, Kunal is a finalist in the HSBC UK Multi-Unit Franchisee category and is also nominated for the Community Impact award, thanks to the outstanding community and charity initiatives led by his team at Snap Fitness Isle of Wight.
Rounding out the nominations is the team at Snap Fitness Bristol Staple Hill, led by Sajda Parveen, who have been recognised in the Customer Focus category. The gym’s owners and staff have built a strong reputation for putting members at the heart of everything they do and being a consistent daily presence on the gym floor.
“We are incredibly proud to be recognised by the BFA across such a wide range of categories,” said Kevin Yates, CEO of Snap Fitness EMEA. “These nominations reflect our commitment to driving innovation, supporting our franchisees and making a tangible difference in our communities. While it’s great for our team to be acknowledged, it’s especially rewarding to see individual franchisees like Kunal and Sajda receive the recognition they so richly deserve.”
The winners will be announced later this year at the BFA Awards ceremony in November, where the best and brightest in British franchising will be honoured.
Chief Executive of the BFA Pip Wilkins said: “Our huge congratulations to Snap Fitness and all our finalists this year. As ever, the entries were very strong, and we commend each and every one of them for their efforts over the past 12 months to do more and to do better.
“Our members are the backbone of the BFA, upholding the ethical values of the association and we thank them for their commitment. The winners will be announced at our awards event in November, when the best in UK franchising come together to celebrate success. We look forward to seeing Snap Fitness there on the night and wish them the very best of luck.”
