A homecare company based in High Wycombe, is celebrating after achieving a ‘good’ rating following an independent review by industry regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

During the inspection, the CQC spent time speaking with care staff, those receiving care, relatives of service users, the managing director Greg Renk and the registered manager, Gina McHugh. They looked to determine whether the service delivered is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The team received ‘good’ ratings in all five areas.

Walfinch Mid & South Buckinghamshire, which is based in Cliveden Office Village, High Wycombe, was set up by Greg in late 2020. The team has since expanded with approximately 26 carers and today provides a wide range of care services to people in their home across the local area, including Amersham, Beaconsfield, Chesham, Gerrard’s Cross, High Wycombe, Marlow, Aylesbury, Stoke Mandeville, Tring, Holmer Green and Widmer End.

Talking about the review by the CQC, Greg said, “Since launching the business, my team of carers are today providing personal care and support to many people across Buckinghamshire. I’ve worked hard to create somewhere that not only provides very high quality care to people in our communities, but is a rewarding and enjoyable place to work for our carers. Every day we strive to provide an outstanding service and I’m delighted that the CQC has recognised these efforts, following its inspection.”
