The Drain Guys to launch their first franchise in Tonbridge
The Drain Guys, leading drainage company in the South East, has signed their first franchisee, husband and wife team, Stephen and Caroline Brook, who will be covering the Tonbridge area.
Stephen, a plumber by trade, and Caroline, an Operations Director for an internet company, left traditional employment in 2000 to get into the property market where they have developed property and managed a small rental portfolio for the past 23 years. After 23 years they realised they were ready for a new challenge.
“Disillusioned with property, we began to look for a new venture that allowed us to bring our sons, Lee and James, into the business too,” said Caroline.
“We had narrowed out research down to two different drainage companies and were very near to signing with one of them when our youngest son, James, found The Drain Guys.”
“They were very responsive and moved at the fast pace we needed. The four of us had meetings with Gavin and liked his way of doing business and the ethos of his company. We felt working with a new Franchisor would be a great benefit, as Gavin was flexible in working with us. This wouldn’t have happened with the other Franchisors we were speaking to; it was a “Take it or leave it” scenario. “
“Being the first Franchise has been a massive advantage to us, as we have had one to one training sessions, support and meetings with Gavin. We didn’t think there was any difference in the brand awareness with the established Franchisors and The Drain Guys, and therefore there wasn’t any benefit in working with a much larger Franchisor, at a much more expensive entry point.”
Established in 2016 by Gavin Dinmock, The Drain Guys offer emergency drain clearance services to domestic and commercial customers. After having to turn down work from commercial clients who had multiple locations in areas they didn't cover, Gavin soon realised the huge potential for their services in these areas and so began the franchise process in 2022. They are now excited to welcome Stephen and Caroline to their growing team.
“We have taken our time to find our first franchisee as we know how important it is to get it right from the start and we couldn’t be happier with Stephen and Caroline,” commented Gavin.
“They already have so much passion for the brand and bring to the franchise not only experience in plumbing, but in running a successful business. We already know they are going to be great ambassadors for the brand.”
