Walfinch Bolton makes an impact and scoops Women in Business Award

Having made the decision to pursue a career in the care industry less than a year ago, Monique Gadd, Managing Director of Walfinch Bolton & Bury has won the Outstanding Woman in Care Services category in the Bolton Women in Business Awards 2023.

Having emigrated from Cape Town to Manchester eight years ago, Monique ran a successful Driver Hire business before deciding to completely change her career into the homecare industry. Having taken over the Walfinch franchise for Bolton and Bury in June 2022, she is delighted to be recognised for her efforts, so early on in her caring career.

Explains Monique: “Having successfully grown the Driver Hire business, I decided I wanted to follow a different path; I’m naturally a very caring and nurturing person and sought to move away from transactional business to something that would be more personally rewarding and that would give something back to the community.  Having met the Walfinch CEO Amrit Dhaliwal, I was inspired by his drive to revolutionise homecare and decided to acquire the Walfinch Bolton & Bury franchise mid last year. I am therefore incredibly grateful and honoured to have been recognised at the Bolton Women in Business Awards.”

Since launching the Bolton and Bury branch of Walfinch, Monique has been steadily growing her client-base, by providing high quality care and support to people in their own homes.  She really loves the feedback she receives from clients and their family members, as Monique continues:

“I greatly enjoyed getting to know people so I can personally support them in living as independently as possible – it makes my day to see the difference we make to people’s lives. Transitioning to Walfinch has brought the best out in me and I’m currently recruiting for more carers to join me, as I look to expand our reach across Bolton and Bury. I’m doing this carefully however, as I’m keen to build a team that shares my vision of providing personalised care, that is not rushed, and where we can really get to know each and every person.”

Concludes Monique: “Winning this award means so much to me, and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my team. Although I was a finalist, I did not expect to win so I was truly surprised and humbled. It is validation that we are on the right track, and I could not be prouder to receive such recognition.”

Based in the Courtyard on Calvin Street in Bolton, Walfinch Bolton and Bury supports clients across the Boroughs of both Bolton and Bury including Farnworth, Heaton, Lostock, Holcombe, Stubbins, Walmersley, Bury, Radcliffe, Fishpool and Tottington.
