Property maintenance business with Government funding support and an income guarantee

With more than 25 years as Australia’s leading repairs, maintenance and renovation franchise, Hire A Hubby continues to innovate, and has been building a franchise network in the UK since being launched here in 2017.

Our experience, combined with our ongoing development helps make Hire A Hubby a safe (and profitable) option for someone who wants to be a business owner.

We are always on the lookout for new Hubbies to manage the ever-growing demand for our handyman services. Our Franchisees come from a diverse range of backgrounds, not necessarily trades.

The role of a Hire A Hubby franchisee

The variety of jobs we do for our customers is vast - from the simplest home and garden repair and maintenance jobs, to kitchen transformations and home renovations; we attract loyal customers who might only have a small job at first but down the track might request help with a large renovation, new kitchen or bathroom.

We offer our customers absolute convenience. We provide a true ‘one-stop shop’ for domestic and commercial customers. Our Hubbies can call on specialised tradespeople, plumbers, electricians, tilers; whoever it takes to help get the job done with the chance to make healthy margins to boot.

The “Hire A Hubby” brand works so well for our franchisees that they can be as busy as they want to be. Our flexible business model allows them to grow the business to a level that suits their lifestyle and financial needs.

There are no set hours or prices with Hire A Hubby. As a business owner you can determine when you want to work and how much you want to charge. Of course, we will provide guidance on rates to ensure you are maximizing your profitability.

Our national call centre and online booking facilities allow our customers to requests jobs 24/7 which are automatically offered to the appropriate franchisee via our technology platform.

Our franchise models

Man in a Van
Most of our new franchisees start as a single-person operation, or “Man in a Van” (MIAV). As the business grows, along with your knowledge and skills, the workload will undoubtedly increase, so the time will come when you decide to either employ staff and take this business to the next level or find ways to manage your capacity and maintain your lifestyle. Either way, our support staff help you reach your goals.

You and Two
For those looking to leverage the brand and enhance their earning potential, this business model affords the opportunity to have more of a managerial role; allocating jobs to staff members with the appropriate skills whilst still being hands-on for half a day. With our experience in this industry, field staff will help you determine what skills you best employ to complement your team, expand your job portfolio and customer base.

Growth in this business can be perpetual. This could expand to operating out of commercial premises with a team of trades and admin staff. A Hubby with a business at this level tends to oversee the business rather than work on the tools.

How we support you

From the day a Hubby starts, a dedicated Franchise Development Manager will be there to support them. Our two-week training course creates instant operational expertise that would otherwise need to be acquired through trial and error. We share with you tried and proven practices to fast track the growth of your business.

We like our Hubbys to ‘work smarter, not harder’, we embrace technology and have services to help with all the administrative aspects of business management. We have a custom-built CRM accessible from your desktop, tablet or mobile device. You can generate quotes and invoices, track all your customers and suppliers and have all your accounting information automatically replicated to the Xero accounting system.

Our franchisees are not in competition with each other. We have created a concept we call “Cell Groups” which consist of local franchisees; they work well together, sharing knowledge, tricks and tips, often helping one another out on the job. The support network of our franchisees is like no other in this industry.

Income Guarantee

We’re confident that when a new Hubby starts, they’ll make money. So much so, we offer an Income Guarantee (IG). This gives Hubbies and their families the peace of mind and security they may need in the early stages of starting a new business.

The IG is a minimum commitment from us to you. It comes from the work we help you generate using our established marketing methodologies. If you don’t hit the IG figure for the week, we top you up, so you and the family can rely on a minimum figure every week.

The Income Guarantee (IG) forms part of the Franchise package and is only designed to assist if needed in the initial stages of the Franchise business. Terms and Conditions apply.
