UBX Franchisees Expand Rapidly, Securing Second Site Within Just Six Months

UBX Franchisees Ben Waldron and Neil Rushby are hot on the expansion trail having secured their second UBX site just six months after opening their first. Ben opened the very first UBX franchised gym in the UK when he opened Media City, Salford, in April 2023.

Ben is a co-owner of Whitworth Leisure alongside UBX Franchisee Neil Rushby, who also opened his own UBX gym in Sheffield with his wife Kirsty earlier this year. Through Whitworth Leisure, Ben and Neil will be expanding their footprint across the North West after securing their second site in Alderley, Cheshire, to add to Media City. The site is expected to open in early 2024.

Commenting on the performance of Media City and the decision to expand to a second location in Alderley, Ben explained: “The reception for such a new concept in the UK has been fantastic and the people of Media City UK have been excited by UBX and what we can do for them. Our member base has grown month on month due to members seeing real results and more people wanting a piece of the action.

It's unbelievable to think we are opening a second gym so soon after the first. I'm so happy we are in a position to show what we have done for others to a wider audience.”

On why Alderley will make a strong location for a UBX gym, Ben added: “Alderley and the surrounding areas are filled with people who take pride in living a healthy lifestyle. Like us, they understand how important it is to actually get results from what you do. It's just a great fit!”

2023 is shaping up to be a landmark year for the UBX brand. In addition, UBX has also announced a partnership with sportswear giant adidas to sell UBX branded merchandise across the estate.
