TOOTING ITS HORN: HEAVENLY DESSERTS CELEBRATES 50TH STORE OPENING IN TOOTING

GLOBAL dessert franchise Heavenly Desserts will celebrate a major milestone this weekend, with its 50th UK restaurant opening in Tooting, London on Saturday 22 July.

Local dessert lovers will have the chance to sample the brand’s delicious dishes, including its innovative dessert tasting tapas range, cooling sundaes, or a signature Heavenly Desserts croffle – a croissant-waffle combination topped with Ruby Chocolate & Raspberry, Biscoff & White Chocolate, or Dark Chocolate & Pistachio.

The restaurant is located at 48 Upper Tooting Road – formerly the Nawal sweet shop – and has capacity for 46 sweet-loving guests. The landmark location will be opened by young trio of entrepreneurs Manoj Kumar Advani, Sundeep Kumar Ukrani and Dev Advani, in their first business venture together after finishing their undergraduate bachelor's degrees.

Tooting marks the seventh store in the London area and the 50th in the Heavenly Desserts franchise. Since opening in 2008, the company has gone from strength to strength, opening five sites this year, with a further five on the horizon. The franchise continued to expand throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and grew its online delivery service through UberEats and Deliveroo.

Yousif Aslam, managing director at Heavenly Desserts, said: “We’re thrilled to have reached such an important milestone, signifying our rapid growth over the last two years in particular. When I started the business in 2008 with my partner, Mohammed Imran, we had dreams to achieve this critical point in our development, so to see it happen in reality is really special.

“The Tooting restaurant is in the heart of south London, near to a bustling high street and a vibrant food market, making it the perfect hotspot for local residents, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone with a dessert experience like no other.”

The new restaurant will boast beautiful interiors which stick to the company’s luxurious and social-media-worthy house style. Features will include a tie dye effect wall artwork alongside the brand’s traditional plush velvet dining chairs in light blues and greys.

Heavenly Desserts’ iconic dessert tapas and vegan menus will be served at the Tooting restaurant for guests of all dietary requirements to indulge in its array of broad and authentic worldwide flavours, including the brand’s mochis, milk cakes and cookie doughs, along with its extensive range of mocktails, coffees, teas and smoothies.

The new store will be open from 11am – 11pm Monday – Sunday, and is located at 48 Upper Tooting Road, Tooting Bec, London SW17 7PD.
