After over two decades as a TaxAssist Accountant, Barry McGougan has maintained a family connection by selling his franchise to his daughter Lisa Foster.

Experienced accountant Lisa, who has been working alongside Barry for the past few years, recently became the new franchise owner, and is keen to continue the legacy built up by her father.

“I can’t thank Dad enough for joining the franchise, successfully establishing the business and now providing me with the opportunity to build on these solid foundations for the future,” said Lisa. “It’s great to already have a good connection with the clients, and I’m really looking forward to working with my team and the Support Centre to expand further.”

Full of praise for all at TaxAssist, Barry commented: “After 21 years with TaxAssist, I have decided to take a well-earned rest and enjoy permanent retirement.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all who were there at the outset of my TaxAssist journey and to those who continued to assist me in my journey.

“I first learnt of TaxAssist in 2000, at a franchise show, where I met Karl Sandall (former CEO, now Non-Executive Director) who told me this was the best franchise to get involved in – he was so right!

“To the Support Centre Team, you truly are the backbone of the organisation. Thank you – without you I would not have lasted six months, never mind 21 years.

“I wish all of you continued success and growth. No doubt Lisa will keep me informed of all future developments.”
