Leicester-based TaxAssist franchisee, Tej Gawera, has won an Ethical Award in the small business category.

TaxAssist Accountants franchisee Tej Gawera has been named as a winner at the inaugural ‘Ethical Awards 2022’.

Tej beat eight other entrants in the small business category, which looked at the business’s track record, customer feedback, vision and values, with each entry form being judged blind.

“We are so proud to have won this award,” said Tej. “We don't enter many awards, but this one stood out for us. It's judged by fellow business people/ professionals on a set criteria, and because the judges had no idea whose business it is, it’s based purely on merit.

“We set ourselves clear targets, pre-covid in 2020, for a three-year plan, in terms of:

1. Turnover
2. Team members
3. Client numbers
4. Net Margin
5. Number of Reviews

“We have currently hit four out of five targets - within two years which is a fantastic achievement.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to all of my team and the TaxAssist Support Centre without none of this is possible and for helping us to win!”
