The Travel Franchise has celebrated the launch of its new cruise division by hosting its first ever ‘Seminar at Sea’ for its franchisees who operate homeworking travel agencies under the Not Just Travel brand.

The launch of the new cruise division represents a shift in mindset for The Travel Franchise, as it looks to take its already expert consultants and turn them into cruise industry experts. All its franchisees will be given the opportunity to take part in its new 12-month Cruise Mastery Programme, with the first of many seminars and workshops taking place in a rather unique location last month [[September]].

Over two hundred franchisees set sail on the world’s newest cruise ship, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Prima, where they experienced world-class training onboard with workshops from leading cruise experts and BBC TV presenter Zara Janjua. NJT co-founders Paul Harrison and Steve Witt were joined onboard by brand champion, Olympic double gold medal winner, Daley Thompson, CBE.

Co-founder Paul Harrison said: “Cruising is the fastest and most dynamic growth sector in the travel industry, offering our franchisees some of the highest average sales and biggest commissions, as well as huge potential for agents in terms of repeat bookings.

“We are absolutely committed to giving our agents the chance to capture a slice of this profitable market and, to help accelerate learning and sales, we have worked with some of the leading experts in the cruise industry to develop top quality training. Think of this like an A-level in cruise, it won’t be easy to complete the course and it requires 100 per cent commitment, but in just 12 months agents who know nothing about the sector can become a Master of Cruise and reap the benefits.”

Harrison adds: “The Seminar at Sea was a huge success – an amazing week packed full of firsts for The Travel Franchise, Not Just Travel, and quite possibly the travel industry. It was a privilege to take our agents on the NCL Prima with 18 bars, all-inclusive speciality restaurants, Broadway shows, and some of the nicest cabins you’ll find in any hotel, let alone afloat on a cruise ship. We will repeat the experience in 2023 and like our other trips and retreats abroad we make sure that agents benefit from training and mentorship while they are away.”

Voluntary annual membership for the Cruise Mastery Programme will be open to new or existing franchisees for £99 per month with members enjoying numerous perks such as the Seminar at Sea. Members will be able to customise their own cruise website and access a host of cruise-specific tools and deals. Agents will also receive cruise-specific weekly news and offers as well as dedicated marketing materials including social posts to help attract new clients. Every member will also be invited to a pioneering ‘Seminar at Sea’ onboard a cruise ship.
