Two new appointments at Driver Hire franchise
Support for franchisees is key to the ongoing success of the Driver Hire network. The number one specialist supplier of transport and logistics staff has recently filled two key roles in its Group Services franchise support team.
Lee Devenish (left) is their new Area Development Manager for the South East. He’s responsible for sales support and development at 18 franchised offices in what is, currently, Driver Hire’s top performing region. A recruitment professional, he’s worked in the industry for 15 years including a period running his own successful driver agency.
“Despite the current difficult economic outlook I see plenty of opportunities for further growth,” says Lee. “Businesses are lacking in confidence and don’t want to commit to permanent staff, even when trade picks up. Temporary staff are the perfect alternative, as they create a flexible, cost-efficient workforce.”
Also joining the Group Services team is Nick Corner (photo below), who’s been appointed to the position of Telemarketing Manager. Nick’s six-person telesales team undertakes campaigns on behalf of Driver Hire’s office network, promotes Driver CPC courses for Driver Hire Training Ltd and carries out telephone customer satisfaction surveys for Driver Hire’s National Accounts function.
Prior to joining Driver Hire, Nick worked for PDC Education, a supplier of educational resources to teachers and schools. He’s also had sales and account management experience in the chemical industry and the holiday travel business.
“All the Driver Hire people I met during the interview process really sold the company to me,” says Nick. “That’s why I made the decision to join this growing and vibrant business. I’m really enjoying working with my new team and taking the service we offer franchisees to an even higher level of excellence.”
The UK’s largest specialist in its field, Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to organisations in both the public and private sector. If they’re short of staff – perhaps because of illness, holidays or seasonal demand – Driver Hire will supply them with a suitable replacement.
