Sabrosa Tacos Sets Its India Entry Plan with Franchise India Partnership

Sabrosa Tacos, a UK-based fast-casual taco brand, is set to enter the Indian retail and dining landscape through a strategic partnership with Franchise India Brands Limited. Established in January 2022, the brand has scaled rapidly—starting as a dark kitchen before evolving into full-fledged dine-in outlets. As Sabrosa Tacos accelerates its global franchising strategy, India has been identified as a key focus market for its next stage of expansion.
Sabrosa Tacos has built its brand around birria—a slow-cooked, spice-rich Mexican stew that has seen a surge in global popularity. The concept places strong emphasis on authenticity, using proprietary spice blends, fresh corn masa tortillas, and a consistent fast-casual operating model. Enhancing the in-store experience, its outlets feature floor-to-ceiling murals created by street artists, now a distinctive element of the brand’s identity.
Since opening its first dine-in restaurant, Sabrosa Tacos has recorded encouraging early performance, marked by year-on-year sales growth, strong customer ratings across platforms, and high repeat-order volumes on delivery channels.
India’s retail and food service market is experiencing growing demand for international cuisines, particularly among Millennial and Gen Z consumers. Although a handful of taco brands are present, the category remains relatively underpenetrated, with birria-style tacos having minimal representation. Sabrosa Tacos believes this presents an opportunity to scale across both metro cities and emerging Tier I and Tier II markets.

Franchise India Brands Limited will spearhead Sabrosa Tacos’s India entry, overseeing franchise development, partner onboarding, and nationwide expansion. The organisation has a track record of introducing international food and beverage brands to the Indian market and aims to position Sabrosa Tacos strongly within the QSR and fast-casual segments.
