KFC TO OPEN NEW RESTAURANT IN MORETON, CREATING 40 JOBS
Fried chicken fans on the Wirral are in for a treat, as KFC is set to open a brand-new restaurant in Moreton later this week.
Opening on Saturday 20th September, the restaurant will serve up KFC’s full menu of fried chicken favourites - including its limited-edition Dirty Lou Burger and Dirty Loaded Fries* - in the heart of Moreton town centre.
KFC Moreton has a fresh look, complete with modern interiors, 46 comfy seats for eating in and six quick-order kiosks for customers on the go. There will also be on-site parking and a dedicated waiting area for delivery drivers, creating a convenient experience for customers, team members and drivers.
The opening will create 40 new jobs for the local community, including a mixture of Team Member, Team Leader and management roles, and there’s still time to apply to join the Moreton team**.
The restaurant will also be actively involved in KFC’s food donation programme, which redistributes surplus food to local people in need via FareShare.
Tom Reid, Senior Acquisition Manager at KFC UK & Ireland, said: “The Wirral has always had a strong KFC fanbase, so we’re thrilled to be opening our doors in Moreton. We’re expanding right across the UK, and this opening is an exciting step for us here in the North West. With a talented new team ready to go, we can’t wait to welcome our first customers very soon.”
Alex Jones, Area Coach at Gastronomy, added: “We’ve been serving up KFC’s famous fried chicken for almost two decades, but we’ve never been more energised about the future. We’ve got big plans to bring KFC to more people around the country, and Moreton is the perfect next move for us. Our team has gone above and beyond to create a restaurant customers will love, and we’re looking forward to being part of the Moreton community.”
KFC Moreton joins 10 other KFC restaurants across Merseyside. The opening forms part of KFC’s £1.5bn investment plan for the UK and Ireland over the next five years – a commitment announced as part of its 60-year anniversary celebrations. This investment will see 500 new restaurants over the next decade, and more than 7,000 jobs created across the business and its supply chain.
As KFC marked 60 years in the UK and Ireland, it also released its first Economic and Community Impact Report, which calculates that each year, KFC contributes more than £1.1 billion to the UK economy. In the North West, KFC contributes a total of £96 million a year and supports 4,574 jobs.
Gastronomy Restaurants Limited has been a KFC franchise partner for almost 20 years. Since opening its first restaurant in Aberystwyth in 2007, Gastronomy has grown to 44 restaurants across Wales, the Midlands, the North West and Shropshire. It recently signed a deal to expand its KFC portfolio substantially over the next five years, growing to over 100 KFC restaurants across the country by 2030.
