ServiceMaster Restore Bath and Bristol Celebrates Exceptional First Year in Business

Last year, Edgar Thoemmes opened ServiceMaster Restore Bath and Bristol, providing exceptional disaster restoration services for the first time across the region.

The Inception

A seasoned entrepreneur with over fifteen years of experience developing profitable businesses, Edgar was drawn to the ServiceMaster Restore franchise opportunity for its scale and profitability, ability to integrate with other enterprises in his portfolio and proven business model.

“Having set up start-up businesses from scratch, I did not want to go through the initial growing pains stage again. I saw the benefits of taking a franchise, as you’re essentially buying an existing business that’s working. It’s got a playbook and a framework that would take years and years to build yourself.”

Edgar is supported operationally by Adrian Matusik, an expert in construction management. Leveraging his and Adrian’s experience, they found ServiceMaster Restore after exploring different construction and facilities management opportunities.

By integrating ServiceMaster Restore’s disaster restoration services, which support residential and commercial properties in recovering from damage caused by fire, flood, mould, trauma, and defacement, with another franchise opportunity in the claims space, Edgar sought to provide a “complete end-to-end disaster recovery solution for property managers, brokers, and facilities managers.”

“It seemed like the perfect industry. It’s also an industry that’s fairly recession-proof and takes away a lot of the risk that you find in other parts of the construction industry,” he adds.

“We were really excited about blending that with the front-end of claims management. It was the natural follow-on to start developing our own supply chain, and restoration is such a key part of that supply chain.”

The Success

Having hit the ground running with years of expertise and a solid plan to develop a complete end-to-end solution in a recession-proof market, Edgar (and Adrian) have had great success in their first full year.

By following the tried and tested ServiceMaster Restore business model to deliver exceptional disaster restoration services through their own supply chain, they turned over an impressive £250,000 in 2024 from ServiceMaster Restore alone.

The scale and growth of the business, through its evolution in the last year, has seen Adrian promoted to Operational Director for ServiceMaster Restore Bath & Bristol this year.

With plans to expand their offering across different regions through developing their business and following the model to scale further, the future looks bright for ServiceMaster Restore Bath and Bristol, following their momentum, drive to succeed and tried and tested model for franchising success within the global ServiceMaster Restore brand.

“Whilst there is still a lot to learn, we’re committed to following the business model, working towards our ambitious targets, and working collaboratively with the expert team at ServiceMaster support centre to ensure we can maximise all that the brand has to offer our local market.”
