Pan-Asian QSR brand, Chopstix is set to open its 100th restaurant this month as the group continues its impressive growth trajectory with the launch of the Chopstix site at Butlin’s Bognor Regis resort over the late May bank holiday weekend.

The Chopstix site will be part of Butlin’s Bognor Regis’ brand-new £3million Skyline Eats development, a modern food and drink destination within the resort’s iconic Skyline Pavilion. Chopstix will join established F&B franchises, Burger King and Costa Coffee in this modern restaurant venue. Skyline Eats will also include Butlin’s own ice cream dessert parlour, Scoop and sandwich franchise Subway® who will also be a new partner to the Sussex resort.

As part of the ongoing franchise agreement, Chopstix and Butlin’s have ambitions to follow the Bognor Regis site opening with the roll out of the pan-Asian brand to resorts in Minehead and Skegness in the future.

Expansion through both company-operated locations and franchisees has been decisive in driving the brand’s growth trajectory. With the new Butlin’s restaurant taking the total estate up to 100 sites, Chopstix is now considered the largest Asian-inspired QSR brand in the UK. The company has set its sights on becoming the largest Asian QSR on the continent, with expansion expected to ramp-up exponentially over the next 5 years, with the long-term ambition of the founders, Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik, to reach 500 sites.

Sam Elia Co-Founder of Chopstix, said: “It’s astounding that we’ve reached 100 sites. When Menashe and I opened our first Chopstix on Oxford Street in 2002, we had no idea how this brand would evolve. The speed at which the business has grown over the last few years demonstrates the versatility and nationwide popularity of the brand, and is a testament to the hard work undertaken by the Chopstix team to fine-tune our operational processes to make this such a scalable business through both equity sites and with great franchise partners such as Butlin’s.”

Menashe Sadik Co-Founder of Chopstix, said “We’re delighted to be partnering with an iconic British business in Butlin’s and it feels fitting that such a landmark site for Chopstix will be at Butlin’s impressive new Skyline Eats development. No doubt Chopstix will be a hit with Butlin’s guests and we can’t wait to see how this relationship develops. Here’s to the next 100 Chopstix sites!”

Full management of the Skyline Eats site will be overseen by Butlin’s, with all team members undergoing a full Chopstix induction, in order to be truly embedded in the ethos of the brand. Butlin’s guests will be able to enjoy Chopstix favourites, including Teriyaki Beef and Caramel Drizzle Chicken, as well as sides ranging from Spring Rolls, to Chicken Balls, Prawn Crackers, and Salt ‘n’ Pepper Potatoes.

Nikki Ratcliffe, Butlin’s Bognor Regis Resort Director said “We are delighted to be partnering with Chopstix for the opening of their 100th store in our brand-new food destination Skyline Eats. We know that food plays an important part of the holiday experience and with Skyline Eats we have brought some of the biggest names on the high street to Bognor. Opening new restaurants like Chopstix means our guests now have even more variety on our family breaks and adult only Big Weekenders.”

The opening of the Chopstix Butlin’s Bognor Regis site comes as the brand continues to deliver strong sales across its portfolio. The Chopstix Group consists of 100 Chopstix sites, in addition to 10 sites operating as Yangtze, and 27 sites under the Chozen Noodle brand, which the group acquired earlier this year.
