Gong cha named Best Food & Drink franchise at the 2023 Global Franchise Awards
Gong cha, one of the world’s fastest-growing tea brands, is proud to announce it has been named the Best Food & Drink franchise at the 2023 Global Franchise Awards, the most prestigious set of awards in global franchising.
Founded in Taiwan in 2006, Gong cha is globally renowned for its high-quality, freshly brewed drinks made with premium ingredients. Since first venturing internationally in 2009, the franchise has grown significantly to more than 1,900 sites located across 22 countries, including 12 stores in the UK.
The Global Franchise Awards, which were selected by an esteemed panel of judges – including Alisdair Gray, Executive Director of the European Franchise Association; Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchise Association; and Jennifer Brandeen, Chief Revenue Officer at the International Association – reflects the continued success of Gong cha’s ambitious international expansion strategy, industry-leading brand, and high-quality offer.
In recent months, Gong cha has expanded its footprint within Europe and North America, launching into new markets such Portugal and Belgium, while announcing its intention to double its footprint in the UK, opening a further 10 stores in the coming months. As one of the fastest growing food and drink franchises globally, Gong cha is targeting the opening of a new store every day on average in 2023 as demand for bubble tea increases.
