Zambrero marks UK franchise milestone with first Development Agent-supported opening in Rochdale
Zambrero, the modern Mexican quick-service restaurant franchise, has opened its latest location in Rochdale, making it the brand’s first Development Agent-supported opening in the country.
Located on Mellor Street, Rochdale, it opened on Friday 25th September, welcoming customers to enjoy its delicious and customisable menu. The opening has created six new jobs within the community.
Opening the first Development Agent-supported location in the country marks a significant achievement for Zambrero's UK franchise programme. Development Agents for Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire, Damian Bennett and Dawn Catherall, have been able to offer an additional layer of support for the franchise partner, providing local guidance and expert recommendations, based on first-hand knowledge of the Rochdale area. The site has been opened by an experienced multi-brand franchise operator who has also committed to opening multiple Zambrero locations, highlighting the growing confidence in the brand's UK growth strategy and the strength of its franchise proposition.
Rochdale is Zambrero’s second opening this month (September 2026), following Brackmills, Northampton that opened earlier in the month.
Offering dine-in, takeaway and delivery options, with seating for 18 customers, the quick-service restaurant is located close to Rochdale town centre and local colleges and serves Zambrero's menu of burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos and quesadillas, alongside vegetarian, vegan and halal options.

Zambrero Development Agents are responsible for franchise partner recruitment to help accelerate growth in their territories, and also assist with location acquisition, restaurant openings, operational support, brand integrity, regional marketing activation and business strategy.

Rochdale is Zambrero’s 18th opening in the UK since its 2021 launch, making Zambrero the fastest-growing Mexican quick-service resturant franchise in the UK. Other locations include London, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading, Essex, Basingstoke, Northampton and Glasgow. It is aiming to open 100 sites in the UK by 2030 in an initial growth drive through its franchise programme.
Globally, the brand has more than 350 locations in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the USA, and the UK, and is the largest Mexican quick-service restaurant franchise in both Australia and Ireland.
