Greensleeves franchisees invest in third territory following record growth
A husband-and-wife franchise team has strengthened its commitment to the Greensleeves Lawn Care network by investing in a third franchise territory, after building two highly successful locations across South and North Yorkshire.
Jamie and Lesley Clark, who currently operate Greensleeves Doncaster and Greensleeves North Yorkshire, have now acquired the North Nottinghamshire territory, further expanding their growing lawn care portfolio.
The latest acquisition marks another significant milestone for the couple, who have spent more than a decade building their first franchise into one of the network's standout performers. Since acquiring the Doncaster territory in 2011, they have grown turnover from £38,000 to £575,000 in 2025. After taking on North Yorkshire, they increased turnover there by £75,000 in their first year.
Their latest investment comes at a time of exceptional growth across the Greensleeves network, with the franchise recording its highest ever March and April turnover figures.
For Jamie and Lesley, the decision to expand further was underpinned by their confidence in the local market, the strength of the franchise model and the support available from head office.
"We've always believed there’s real opportunity in the territories we've chosen because we know them so well. I’ve lived in Doncaster all my life and Lesley grew up in York, so we understand the local markets, the communities and where the opportunities are,” said Jamie.
"Before taking on any new territory, we do our homework. We look closely at the competition, assess the potential for growth and make sure there is genuine headroom to develop the business. We knew from our experience in Doncaster that the Greensleeves model works, so we felt confident we could apply the same systems and approach to continue growing."
The couple say maintaining strong operational foundations has been key to successfully scaling the business.
"We've always run the business carefully and made sure we have the right support systems in place before expanding. One of the biggest mistakes growing businesses can make is not having sufficient administrative support. As you grow, the office function becomes more important than ever,” said Lesley.
"Having a strong team behind us allows us to focus on customer service, maintaining standards and developing the business rather than getting tied up in day-to-day administration."
The acquisition process itself was supported by the Greensleeves head office team, helping ensure a smooth transition into the new territory.
"Head Office have been exemplary throughout the acquisition process. Their support has been consistently first-class and they remain readily available whenever guidance or assistance is required,” added Jamie. "The sales element of the transition was managed exceptionally well, while the system and administrative handover was seamless. The marketing team ensured everything was prepared to a high standard, allowing us to begin focusing on growth from day one."
The Clarks' continued investment reflects both their own success and the wider strength of the network.
