A year in review with Razzamataz

Razzamataz-Year-Review.jpg

As we bid farewell to another eventful year, Razzamataz Theatre Schools is delighted to reflect on the remarkable milestones achieved in 2023. Here are just a few of our highlights

Three day Conference

For the first time ever, we held a three day Conference in the stunning Lake District, where Razzamataz franchisees were treated to a spectacular mix of training, wellness coaching, exciting challenges and entertainment in what has proved to be the biggest and best Conference to date.

Inspiring young entrepreneurs

Razzamataz Founder Denise was invited by The Prince’s Trust (now The King’s Trust) to talk at the Manchester Brilliant Breakfast event. The theme of the event was “the rise of the female entrepreneur and business leader”. Denise was also invited to Warwick University to attend the annual Impact Summit by the team at the Warwick Entrepreneurs Society. PR Manager Karen Keeman represented Razzamataz and was invited as a guest speaker at Gradstock Careers Festival 2022. Gradstock is Middlesex University’s annual careers and employment festival, offering a unique twist on a traditional careers fair.

Collaborating with Mattel

Monster High and Razzamataz Theatre Schools worked together to create an immersive and engaging dance partnership that brings to life the ethos of Monster High for Razzamataz students introducing them to characters, dolls, music, and content in the September-October 2023 term. The results were phenomenal with 90% of parents / families reporting that the programme has helped their child to know and embrace what makes them unique and special.  Furthermore, 86.2% of parents / families said that they had seen an increase in their child’s inner confidence and self-belief as a direct result of the programme. In terms of marketing, socials were buzzing, and the press releases were published on 17 platforms.

Supporting our teams

The Razzamataz Team Celebration Day was a free to attend event offering the tools and guidance needed for people to progress in the performing arts industry. Teachers and team members participated in a range of workshops to explore their potential, both professionally and personally, and learn more about the wide range of opportunities within the network.

Performing in the West End

Our students performed in two sold-out shows at the Shaftesbury Theatre in the heart of London’s vibrant theatre district. This was our tenth time performing in the West End with the show seamlessly combining professionalism with a display of the students’ talent and dedication.

New York experience

The Razzamataz students were invited to New York to embark on an incredible journey that they will never forget. The immersive educational experience combined workshops with Broadway stars, seeing the famous sights and having lots of fun with friends.

Welcoming new schools and Principals

It was another busy year in terms of expansion with new schools and Principals in Lancaster, Coventry and Manchester and Dorchester. We also welcomed a new Principal and school in Leicester South who will be opening in January 2024.

International expansion

Razzamataz is at the beginning of forging an international presence. We were invited by the prestigious UK Trade Mission to attend the Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) Dubai 2023. This invitation recognises Razzamataz’s outstanding contributions to the field of education and its commitment to providing innovative and engaging learning experiences. Razzamataz is also proud to be a BESA member. As well as attending the exhibition, Razzamataz were asked to participate in an extensive conference programme, by joining the expert panel of speakers at the Leaders in Education Conference. The Razzamataz team delivered key presentations to more than 8,000 educational professional from 94 counties including key decision-makers.

Royal Variety Performance

We were delighted to treat 15 of our franchisees for an exclusive experience with a special invitation to attend a star-studded performance at the Royal Variety Performance in the glorious Royal Albert Hall. This spectacular venue welcomed luminaries in both stage and film including Cher, Paloma Faith, Hannah Waddingham and West End shows Crazy For You and Sister Act to name just a few.

Giving back

Razzamataz is steadfast in its commitment to establish a lasting legacy through the provision of scholarship opportunities in the arts. We are immensely proud to have once again partnered with the prestigious The Stage newspaper and collectively worked as a network to provide scholarships via our very own Future Fund charity, to support students going on to study performing arts at further education.

The data

Delving into the data, Razzamataz has set social channels buzzing this year with the website performing particularly well. A year to date shows in excess of 125,000 users, and a steady growth throughout the year, totaling over 685,000 page views.
