Gong cha, one of the world’s fastest growing tea brands, with over 2,000 locations across 23 countries, is delighted to announce the appointments of Tamera Campbell as Chief People Officer and Bahar Kiransa as Global Marketing Director.

Tamera Campbell is an established and widely respected human resources professional with unrivalled expertise in organisational development, talent and leadership development, and environment and social governance (ESG). She has over 7 years of experience at Nando’s Group, where she was responsible for overall leadership for ESG strategy, development and implementation. She was previously CPO for India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) and North America (United States and Canada). In her previous roles, Tamera was responsible for nurturing a people-driven culture, ensuring that respect, inclusivity and diversity were enshrined across the entire organisation.

Tamera will be based at Gong cha’s head office in London but will travel widely across all its markets to develop and implement people strategies that will attract, retain and grow world-class talent. Tamera’s expertise will go a long way towards optimising this process, as Gong cha unlocks the potential of its teams to fuel new growth.

Bahar Kiransa, an established marketing professional from across a diverse range of brands and sectors, joins Gong cha’s senior team as Global Marketing Director. Bahar has amassed over 15 years of experience in marketing and brand development at some of the world’s largest consumer goods corporations, including Procter & Gamble, Unilever and Kraft Heinz. Throughout her career, Bahar was trusted in crafting category strategies for diverse regions and marketing campaigns with 360 communication assets.

At Gong cha, Bahar will carry over much of her experience to develop and implement new marketing campaigns and innovation, enhancing the brand’s international visibility. Bahar will collaborate with Gong cha’s team to drive customer engagement with its delicious tea ranges in both current and future markets. This will involve close market collaboration, as it looks to leverage insights to identify opportunities for both innovation and expansion.

These new additions to the Gong cha team will significantly reinforce the Group’s potential and position as a champion of female talent, bringing a wealth of additional operational and marketing expertise to the forefront. With their expertise, these two new appointments will drive the Group’s ambitious global expansion plans, as it continues to target the opening of a new store every day, on average, this year.

Paul Reynish, Global CEO of Gong cha, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Tamera and Bahar to Gong cha. They bring a wealth of expertise to the Group and join at an extremely exciting time in our history. At Gong cha, we are proud that 66% of our total group is currently female. By setting the standard for female representation across our stores, corporate headquarters, and regional offices, we recognise the vital role that women play in inspiring our success. This year, we plan to significantly bolster our presence in Europe, including doubling our footprint in the UK, and Tamera and Bahar’s insights and knowledge will prove invaluable as we realise the potential of our ambitious international expansion strategy.”
