Manchester's vibrant culinary scene is about to get even richer with the highly anticipated opening of Afrikana, an African-inspired franchise brand set to captivate the taste buds of the city's residents. With its diverse menu showcasing the authentic flavours and vibrant spices inspired by Africa, Afrikana Manchester promises to transport diners on a culinary journey like no other.

Located in the heart of Curry Mile in Manchester, Afrikana combines traditional African recipes with a modern twist, offering an exquisite dining experience for both residents and visitors alike. The restaurant's interior design reflects the rich cultural heritage of Africa, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that invites guests to immerse themselves in the continent's diverse traditions.

Afrikana is led by renowned entrepreneur Omair Ali, who felt there was a gap in the hospitality market for an African-inspired restaurant offering high-end quality food infused with beautiful African flavours. He highlights, "Our aim is to create a space where people can experience something like no other and enjoy an unforgettable dining experience. We want to tantalize the taste buds and showcase the beautiful culture, art, music and food through our restaurants."  With its beginnings in the Midlands town of Aldridge in 2018, Afrikana now has several locations across the country with nine more branches including Birmingham, Cardiff, Leicester, Bristol and Lakeside, Essex.

Afrikana offers a wide variety of food from grilled chicken, curries, burgers and vegetarian and vegan options! There's plenty of choice on the menu, with specials including slow cooked Curry Goat, Jerk fried chicken and plantain, Jammin’ Jambalaya and tender french trim lamb chops packed with African inspired seasoning and flavours! Franchisees Ismaeel Waseem and Wasim Riley, have taken on a development plan to expand Afrikana across Manchester and are overjoyed to finally open their first store: “We couldn't be more thrilled to bring the Afrikana brand to this vibrant community. We are excited to share the delicious food and exceptional service with all who walk through our doors. Our success as a franchise is a testament to our dedication to upholding the highest standards in every aspect of our operation. We look forward to creating memorable experiences for our guests.”

Afrikana officially opened its doors on Friday 23rd June 2023. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, welcoming guests to indulge in the diverse and sensational tastes of African-inspired food. Whether it's a special occasion, a gathering with friends and family, or a solo adventure into African-inspired cuisine, Afrikana promises to be a haven for food lovers seeking a unique and exciting experience.
