Gong cha signs agreement to launch 200 stores in France

Gong cha, one of the world’s fastest-growing global tea brands is pleased to announce the opening of its first store in France, after agreeing a master franchise agreement with Mad Vision Group, the multi-brand franchise specialists which hold Gong cha master franchise licences in Belgium. Under terms of the agreement, Mad Vision Group has committed to open 200 stores in France by 2033.

After launching in Taiwan in 2006, Gong cha has gone from strength to strength amidst growing global demand for its range of high-quality, freshly brewed drinks made with premium drinks. Today, the group has nearly 2,000 stores across 23 countries, including the UK, USA, Mexico, Australia, Korea, and Japan, and has unveiled an ambitious international expansion strategy to enhance its presence in Europe as consumer demand for bubble tea accelerates.

The launch in France follows a period of strategic progress for Gong cha. In recent months, the group launched in Portugal and Belgium, and announced plans to double its estate in the UK, home to its recently relocated global headquarters. In addition, Gong cha has made several senior appointments to support its plans to scale up.

The agreement builds on Gong cha’s strong and successful relationship with Mad Vision Group, a highly experienced franchise operator which is led by Adlane Draou, to date. After signing an agreement to launch in Belgium in September, Mad Vision Group has since opened three sites in Belgium, with plans to open seven more by the end of this year. The Group’s ambitious expansion into France will cement Gong cha at the heart of the country’s bubble tea market.
