The sky’s the limit for this exterior cleaning family
When COVID hit, Liam Davis could have stuck to the safe route – but safe doesn’t build a legacy.
In September 2020, after nearly 30 years as a chef, Liam was made redundant. Instead of stepping back into hospitality, he seized the chance to build something that would secure his family’s future for decades to come. Franchising offered the proven systems and support he needed to hit the ground running - and My Property Pros (MPP, formerly My Window Cleaner) stood out for one big reason: it wasn’t just about one service – it was about building a recession-resistant exterior cleaning business with multiple revenue streams and real potential to scale.
“When I found MPP, the opportunity honestly looked too good to be true,” said Liam. “But the support is unbelievable – the technology, the training, the team – it’s all there from day one.”
Liam’s wife Tina, who spent 25 years as an Assistant Community Development Officer with Belfast City Council, didn’t just watch from the sidelines. Three years after Liam launched, she made the leap herself, leaving her secure career to join the family business full-time. It’s a testament to the confidence they have in what they’re building together. Their son, Aidan, soon got on board too and now owns his own franchise, driving the family’s plans to dominate the Northern Ireland region.
What started with one van on International Women’s Day in 2021 is now an award-winning exterior cleaning business that’s just been crowned Exterior Cleaning Company of the Year for Antrim by Corporate LiveWire. The Davis family now serves hundreds of regular customers every month – four times the size of a friend’s similar but independent setup, said Tina – and they’re nowhere near done.
“We’ve leveraged every ounce of the support from the MPP team,” added Tina. “From the CRM and the in-field App to the national supplier network and ongoing training – you just don’t get that when you go it alone.”
A major turning point was MPP’s strategic rebrand. Originally known for window cleaning, the new vision added high-value complementary services like roof cleaning, render washing, and advanced property maintenance – transforming the business into a full-service exterior property care company and unlocking huge new revenue streams.
Today, Liam and Aidan are building out the commercial side with major regional contracts, while Tina runs operations back at ‘Davis Empire HQ’. They’ve even got enough in the bank to bring their nephew into the business as a full-time employee - and their daughter is planning to join the family venture in the future too.
“The rebrand changed the game for us,” Liam explained. “It repositioned us in the market, opened the door to bigger contracts and higher-value work - and it’s set us up to expand fast.”
The plan? One van now, then two, then five, then twenty. An office, a team, a lasting family legacy.
“It’s not just a dream – it’s happening,” Liam concluded. “When you’ve got the right systems, the right support, and the right people in your corner - the sky really is the limit.”
