Entrepreneur, André, opens London's first UBX gym and sets new sales record

UBX Wembley, London's first UBX gym has got off to a flying start, securing 100 members in presale before officially opening the doors to their boutique gym on 19th February.

This performance set a new record for UBX presale memberships in the UK and Ireland.

Franchisee André Hordagoda described his UBX gym as “the coolest gym in London” as he and his team hosted a lively launch party for friends, family, and the gyms foundation members.

The video below captures the energy and excitement of the launch party as franchisee André describes the experience of opening his first UBX gym.

André and his team were recognised for their presale performance at the Empowered Brands Prevo 2024 Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony, winning UBX Presale Club of the Year.

UBX Wembley is the first venture into the health and fitness industry for entrepreneur, André. In his previous business as Co-CEO and Co-Founder of the pioneering live-video-for-retail SAAS tech firm Go Instore, in under 10 years he scaled the business globally and took it to its eventual successful exit in 2021.

The fantastic looking Wembley site was the first UBX gym to open in London and follows earlier UBX franchise openings in Media City (Salford), Stepaside (Dublin). Sheffield, Bath, and Alderley (Cheshire).

On the opening of UBX Wembley, Mark Pinner, CEO at UBX UK & Ireland, and Empowered Brands commented:

“It’s little surprise that UBX Wembley has got off to such a great start, André and his team have absolutely driven the business from the very start and achieved fantastic membership numbers in their presales. It’s worth noting that this is a boutique gym with a monthly membership price point of £180. The members are clearly enjoying the convenience, training experience and results of the UBX workouts.

We’re looking forward to some further UBX franchise openings in London with Islington and Kingston scheduled soon. Outside of London we also have Windsor and Brighton opening in the coming months. With Alderley and Wembley already open this year, 2024 is off to a strong start for the UBX brand and our franchisees.”

2023 was a landmark year for the UBX brand as it broke into new territories, expanding to 100+ locations across 7 countries. With locations now in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, Ireland, the USA, and Japan. 2024 shows no signs of slowing down.

If you’re interested in opening a UBX gym of your own, and want to secure your preferred territory, then there has never been a better time to get involved with this fast-growing franchise. To find out more, get in touch via the ‘View Franchise Profile’ button below.
