Rosemary Bookkeeping franchise impressed me through their Discovery Day

Franchisee: Alison Buck
Territory: Swindon
Franchise: Rosemary Bookkeeping

Alison started her first job in bookkeeping when she returned to work after the birth of her second daughter. “I had seen a job advertised for a Personal Secretary at a nearby Golf Club. Part of the job involved manual bookkeeping. Despite having no experience of this I managed to convince the proprietor that I was sure that I could learn and you could say, ‘I have not looked back since’.”

How Alison got involved with Rosemary Bookkeeping
Alison was unsure of how secure her previous job would be over the long term and she found Rosemary Bookkeeping after searching the internet for franchises in July 2011. “Not feeling it would do any harm to attend a ‘Discovery Day’, I booked a place and started to research Rosemary. I was a little sceptical before attending the Discovery Day but, by end of the day, both my husband and I were very impressed and keen to learn more.

“After further meetings and talks I decided that the Rosemary Franchise was an exciting prospect and it was reasonably new so I was able to secure a local territory. The Rosemary team were all extremely friendly and were people that I felt would be supportive and that I could work with.

“Having worked for small businesses over a number of years I had always felt that I had worked hard for the benefit of others and that maybe I would now have the opportunity to do something for myself.”

Alison’s secrets to success...
“I want my franchise to be known for its professional but likeable and friendly approach. My franchise is personable and I have a good understanding of the business and am able to build up great working relationships with my clients.”

What Joanna Dennis, Franchise Development Director of Rosemary Bookkeeping says:
“Alison always tries to do the best possible job for her clients - she intelligently processes the work and makes sure that the reports she prepares are useful and makes sense.”

About Rosemary Bookkeeping
Rosemary Bookkeeping is a British Franchise Association accredited franchise, based on a successful business which was established in 2002 and offers a unique bookkeeping system which is built around charging clients per transaction rather than per hour.

The Founding Partners have over 60 years of business and bookkeeping experience between them in the essential business disciplines of accounting, operations, sales and marketing.

According to the Federation of Small Businesses, over 4 million customers NEED this service. By law, all businesses in the UK are required to keep records of their transactions which later are used by an accountant to file for tax and often VAT. Managing these transactions through bookkeeping is often the biggest headache to the small business owner and a task that is left at the bottom of the pile.

There is a growing network of established Franchise Partners in the UK either running their franchise as a management business with bookkeepers undertaking the work for them or working on client accounts themselves.
