Cartridge World Winners of Franchisee of the Year Award for 2009

Background
Chris Page and Antony Eely had both successfully built up their own petrol station franchises, but, as contract terms made it ever harder to turn a profit, the friends decided to look for a business partnership opportunity.   
 
What introduced them to Cartridge World
Having previously been a Cartridge World business customer, Chris was impressed with the concept of refilling printer cartridges, and had Cartridge World in mind as a potential venture. When Chris and Antony visited stores to see the business in action, they were sufficiently impressed that they decided to open their own outlet, which they did in February 2006 in Portslade, Brighton.      
 
Progress to date
Following a successful first year, turnover doubled in the second year, earning Chris and Antony the Cartridge World New Franchisees of the Year award in 2008. The duo continued to build on this success, with their efforts rewarded when they scooped Franchisee of the Year Award for 2009. Chris and Antony are now considering expanding their premises to cope with the volume of business.   
 
The business partners attribute their success to a combination of hard work, technical help and advice from fellow franchisees and providing excellent customer service. The pair have built up a loyal customer base, and, with business enquiries on the increase, see the current economic downturn as an opportunity to actually grow their customer base. 
 
Support from head office, such as national marketing campaigns, and regular face-to-face meetings with the Business Development Manager assigned to their store, completes the picture.

“Behind the store’s success is our commitment to offer really good local service. Customers can save money by refilling their cartridges, and they know if there’s a problem they have a money-back guarantee. For local businesses, where possible we’re giving a same-day delivery and helping them with any printer-related queries or problems.
 
“An added benefit is the ‘green’ side of what we do. Customers see it as a big bonus, and we follow it through by recycling behind the scenes as well. The environment is increasingly making headlines, which can only help us.”
