The UK’s leading Asian QSR brand, Chopstix, has announced a long-term agreement with established franchise operators, Darren Godfrey and Naomi Godfrey. The multi-unit deal, with Darren and Naomi as franchisees, further accelerates the growth of the Chopstix brand, with Darren and Naomi looking to develop a pipeline of stores across the south of England.

Darren and Naomi, who already have significant experience operating foodservice businesses through the franchise model, working with international brands such as Pizza Hut, are set to open their first Chopstix site in Guildford this month, with a second site launch planned in Portsmouth later this year.

Located at The Food Court, The Friary Shopping Centre, North Street, Guildford, GU1 4YT; the site boasts brand-new state of the art digital screens and the striking in-store aesthetics that makes Chopstix so unique. The new site will serve all the irresistible menu favourites Chopstix has to offer, including Teriyaki Beef, Caramel Drizzle Chicken and Pumpkin Katsu, as well as sides ranging from Spring Rolls to Chicken Balls, Prawn Crackers, and the delectable Salt ‘n’ Pepper Potatoes.

Working closely with Chopstix Franchise Director, Aaron Moore-Saxton, under the agreement, Darren and Naomi will oversee the full management of the sites, with all employees undergoing an extensive Chopstix induction.

Aaron Moore-Saxton, Chopstix Franchise Director, said: “Darren, Naomi and their team have a wealth of experience operating QSR and casual dining sites, so I’m delighted they’ve come on board as our latest franchisees.

“The passion they have for the brand and their vision for growth aligns perfectly with our own. I’m excited to see how the team do with the Guildford site launch and with Portsmouth later this year. I’m confident they will have long term success with the brand.”

Darren Godfrey, Chopstix Franchisee, said: “It’s clear there’s huge momentum behind the Chopstix brand, so we’re thrilled to be opening this site in Guildford.

“We see great opportunity to build a strong pipeline of new Chopstix locations and this is in no small part due to the breadth of site formats the brand can work in and the strong return on investment Chopstix has consistently delivered. We look forward to working closely with the Chopstix team moving forward.”

Naomi Godfrey, Chopstix Franchisee, said: “We had been looking for a brand to partner with for quite some time, with an alignment of values, culture and quality being at the heart of our decision.  We are delighted to be partnering with Chopstix, knowing we will be offering great quality, and exciting and tasty products, working with a brand who holds the same values as us in such high regard.”

Chopstix was established in Camden Market in 2002 by entrepreneurs Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik, who remain involved with the business on a day-to-day basis. The Chopstix Group has undergone a busy period of brand development and expansion as Chopstix sets its sights on becoming the largest Asian QSR on the continent. The business boasts a strong pipeline of new sites, through both company operated and franchise ownership models, thanks to partnerships with established franchisees including Butlin’s, Haven and Welcome Break.
