GERMAN DONER KEBAB HOSTS A LEIPZIG LUNCH AHEAD OF MANCHESTER CITY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CLASH

German Doner Kebab (GDK) has organised a traditional Leipzig lunch ahead of Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

The gourmet kebab chain is keen to find common ground between the two football clubs ahead of the spectacular clash at Etihad Stadium and believe their love of kebabs is what connects both Mancunians and Germans.

To celebrate this unique connection, GDK is offering up free kebabs for the first 100 people to show a German Passport at their central Manchester restaurant.

Guests can show their German Passport on arrival to GDK Manchester Oxford Road to qualify for a free OG Kebab.

The offer will run between 11am - 5pm on November 28th for all dine-in and takeaway orders as the gourmet kebab brand presents an opportunity for travelling and resident Germans to taste a Doner Kebab which GDK claims is better than the ones they will taste at home.

GDK is revolutionising the kebab in the UK, bringing a fresh, high-quality taste sensation that has made it the go-to place to enjoy a kebab.

Freshly prepared in front of customers, the game-changing kebabs combine premium, lean meats imported from Germany and fresh, locally sourced salads, served in its world-famous toasted waffle bread with unique signature sauces.

The brand has been a big hit with local fans since it opened in late 2021 and now has over 130 restaurants in the UK alone, as it continues to bring the GDK experience to more locations across the country.

Dr Thorsk Westphal, GDK’s Global CMO, said: “We are delighted to see UEFA Champions League football back at Etihad Stadium and see the buzz in the city ahead of the game against RB Leipzig.

“Ahead of the match, we are keen to recognise and celebrate the shared love of Doner Kebabs that exists within Manchester and Germany.

“The modern doner kebab was created in Germany, and football in England, so it seems only right that we honour this momentous game in our own unique GDK way.

“Being German, I love my football and my kebabs and invite my fellow countrymen to try our kebabs that have been revolutionising the UK.

“We hope GDK Manchester Oxford Road can be a fan-zone for both sets of supporters on matchday to meet, talk football and enjoy our game-changing kebabs.”
