Harry Ramsden's signs major franchise agreement to open at least 60 restaurants in India
Harry Ramsden’s has signed a master franchise agreement with Franchise India Ventures to launch and grow the iconic British restaurant brand across India, with plans to open at least 60 restaurants over the next 10 years.
The landmark agreement represents a significant step in Harry Ramsden’s international growth strategy and will bring one of Britain’s best-known fish and chips brands to one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing consumer markets.
The first Harry Ramsden’s restaurant in India is expected to open in early 2027, marking the beginning of an ambitious nationwide rollout led by Franchise India Ventures.
Founded in 1928, Harry Ramsden’s has become synonymous with traditional British fish and chips, building a heritage and reputation that spans almost a century. The partnership will combine that brand recognition and restaurant expertise with Franchise India Ventures’ extensive knowledge of the Indian market and franchise sector.
