Four Decades of Growth

Countrywide Grounds Maintenance, is proud to be celebrating its 40th anniversary of delivering professional services to educational facilities, commercial facilities and organisations across the UK.

Over four decades, the brand has grown from a single local operation in the North West into a nationwide network of more than 46 regional locations, servicing over 12,000 sites each year.

Founded in 1986, Countrywide was built on a simple principle: to provide reliable, high-quality grounds maintenance tailored to our clients needs.

The business took its first major step towards national growth in 1993, launching its regional office in Stockport, Greater Manchester. The success of that first location created a blueprint for scalable, consistent service delivery that continues to underpin our regional locations today.

By 2014, the network had expanded to its current footprint of more than 46 regional locations, enabling it to deliver local service at national scale across sectors including education, facilities and property management, hospitality, utilities, emergency services and the wider public sector.

A significant landmark came in 2017 when Countrywide joined Neighbourly, the world’s largest provider of service delivery, bringing additional infrastructure and support to strengthen its operations expertise. Today, the network covers a full range of services, from grass cutting, through to full site maintenance across more than 12,000 clients annually.

As it marks its 40th year, Countrywide is also looking firmly to the future. In March, the business launched a brand-new customer engagement platform, countrywidegrounds.com, including an industry-first Site Assessment Tool, which allows organisations to measure their grounds online, receive a tailored report featuring expert recommendations, and arrange a free in-person site assessment from their nearest regional office.

Commenting on the milestone, Managing Director Mark Heath said: "We are incredibly proud to be celebrating 40 years of Countrywide. It's a significant achievement and a reflection of the dedication of our regional, teams and support staff across the UK. From our humble beginnings in Manchester to the national network we are today, our focus has always been on delivering a dependable, high-quality service, The strength of our network and the loyalty of our customers is something we're extremely proud of, and we're excited about what the future holds."

Philip Carr, Managing Director of Neighbourly UK, added: "Reaching 40 years is a tremendous milestone, and Countrywide is a fantastic example of what a network of regional locations can achieve when it stays true to its values. Our local offices are deeply embedded in the communities they serve, and that commitment to delivering real, meaningful service at a regional level has been central to Countrywide's success. We're proud to have Countrywide as part of the Neighbourly family, and we look forward to supporting our customers as we continue to grow and evolve."

As Countrywide looks ahead, it remains focused on supporting its network, investing in service delivery, and maintaining the high standards that have defined the brand for four decades.
