Greensleeves serves an ace at its first in-person conference for two years

Last month saw the return of the annual conference for Greensleeves and their network of franchisees. Held on the pristine grass of Wimbledon’s Centre Court, it was the perfect venue to celebrate and share the successes and achievements of the past two years and discuss future opportunities and growth for the lawn care franchise.

“We’ve been in constant virtual contact with our franchisees and their teams over the last 24 months, but it was fantastic to be back in a venue with so many of them again. Nothing beats the atmosphere of a Greensleeves conference, where the sense of collaboration and pride is so evident.  It was a great day and very well received by all,” said David Truby, Managing Director of Greensleeves.

Attended by franchisees and key suppliers from across the UK, the conference was the first time the network had come together in person since January 2020. The event created a valuable opportunity to celebrate the growth of the brand, unite post-COVID and welcome 16 new franchisees, all of whom joined in the last two years.

The overarching theme of the conference was ‘Further Together’, and this was exemplified in all the inspiring talks delivered by Greensleeves head office and the keynote speakers. Managing Director, David Truby, kickstarted the conference by sharing ideas and best practice for the brand, followed by Cheryl Harper, Business Manager, who spoke about growth mindset and how success is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

To engage and entertain the delegates, there were also a number of guest speakers, including Wimbledon’s Head of Courts and Horticultural, Neil Stubley, who talked about the history of the venue and how they maintain the courts. Very apt for a lawn care franchise. The icing on the cake, however, was Olympic athletes Roger Black MBE and Steve Backley OBE, who together with their experienced business coach, Paul Mallinson, delivered a unique and impactful workshop which energised all the franchisees to continually strive and compete successfully, like Olympians.

“The conference has been a great success and we’re all so excited about the future of Greensleeves – next year we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary, so our conference will be even bigger and better,” added David. “The African proverb, ‘If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go further go together’ summed up our business landscape, and we are now all feeling recharged, motivated and full of positivity to take Greensleeves to the next level of growth. Without our fantastic network of franchisees, we wouldn’t be here today, so thank you to everyone who has contributed over the past 24 years.”

Mark Warrington of Greensleeves Preston and Southport District was one franchisee who attended the conference. “Just a quick note to thank you and all at HQ for a great event at Wimbledon. I think these have been missed due to the pandemic and are a way of bringing everyone together and giving everyone a boost. There was obviously a lot of effort from everyone organising, preparing speeches etc, and I’m sure it hasn’t gone unnoticed by everyone who attended. Thank you!”

Established in 1998, Greensleeves is a lawn care franchise with 108 territories in the UK. Delivering an all-year-round lawn care service through a network of franchisees across the UK, the brand had a record-breaking year in 2021 and is on track to achieve similar results in 2022.
