FPG Foods to double its KFC UK & Ireland restaurant business by 2030

KFC UK & Ireland and its franchise partner FPG Foods (FPG) have today announced a new agreement to accelerate FPG’s growth ambitions in the dynamic UK and Ireland chicken market. As part of the agreement, FPG will acquire 17 KFC restaurants across London and the South of England. FPG will double the size of its UK business and is committed to increasing its estate to 50 restaurants by 2030.
Rashied Parker, CEO of FPG Foods, said:
“The response we've seen since opening in the UK two years ago has given us even greater confidence in the KFC brand and the opportunity ahead. From its strong leadership team to its focus on innovation and customer service, KFC UK&I has all the ingredients for sustained growth and that is why we have set this ambitious plan to increase our estate to 50 restaurants by 2030.
The dedication of our team, led by FPG Foods UK General Manager Tyrone Herdman-Grant, has also played an important role in this journey. Through relentless focus on product quality, customer experience and team development, they have helped create a platform from which we can confidently pursue our long-term growth ambitions.”
Rob Swain, General Manager at KFC UK & Ireland, added:
“This agreement marks another important step in KFC’s growth across the UK and Ireland. Our franchise partners are central to that ambition, helping us bring great tasting chicken, brilliant service and modern restaurants to more customers, in more communities.
FPG Foods has built a strong track record of operating high performing restaurants. I'm delighted to be working with Rashied and his team, who share our ambition for growth and our commitment to delivering a great experience for customers every time they visit.
The UK and Ireland remain one of KFC's most exciting markets. With strong franchise partners, talented restaurant teams and continued investment in the brand, we're well placed to build on our leadership position and unlock the next chapter of growth together."
The announcement follows KFC's 2025 growth plan outlining that it will deliver a £1.5 billion impact in the UK and Ireland, including plans to open hundreds of new restaurants over the next decade. Delivering that ambition will rely on continued investment from KFC and its franchise partners, with long standing franchisee Gastronomy announcing in September 2025 that it will more than double its KFC restaurant count by 2030, underlining its confidence in the brand's long term growth trajectory. Latest earnings showed UK system sales grew 9% in the first quarter, with the brand seeing strong momentum ahead of Q2, driven by Pickle Mania – its most successful limited-time range in UK history.
