'Aha' Moments Pointed the Way to a New Future for Liz

Sometimes in life the most unexpected turn of events can lead you down a completely different career path as HR & Payroll services executive and classic car enthusiast Liz Pither, owner of Revive! Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft found out.

The mother of two has a passion for and a collection of classic cars and had already experienced the Revive! commitment to excellence as a customer when alloy wheels on her MX5 needed repairing.  Having also experienced the service some years back with another car, the recent experience prompted the interest in Revive!.

Thoughts of starting her own business came about almost by accident as she was looking to understand what franchising was all about. The more she explored the more excited she became.

“So, I went online and began a search for franchises in the automotive industry and found Revive!. That was the ‘aha’ moment when I realised that the company that had provided me the service on my vehicles was now the franchise that was coming up on top!”

Even more ‘aha’ moments arrived as she progressed through the Revive! recruitment process. Explained Liz:  “Everyone at Revive! was very close to my own character and the company values of unity, integrity, customer service and technical excellence really rang true to me and my personality. I’m passionate about the work I do and have done up until now in the corporate world. I realised I could leverage my transferrable skills like people management, organisation, knowing how to get the best out of people and what good service delivery actually looks like to build my own Revive! business.”

Revive! Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft will become a family affair as Liz’s oldest son has joined her in the business to help manage the administration. Training has been a key aspect for both mother and son. “It’s been phenomenal,” said Liz. “The training has been really well delivered, supported in a truly professional way.

“Going back and looking at the materials that have been made available to me as a franchisee, plus having ad hoc support, whether it's on a messaging tool, whether it's a text whether it's a phone call, the team have been so responsive. It's made it much easier when you have a question that comes up to get a reply straight away when it's at the forefront of your mind. It’s been outstanding.”

She added: “Franchising gives you the opportunity to start your own business up with a bit of backing and support. It's almost like as a teenager having a parent, there's somebody there in the background that you can go to.”

Looking to the future, Liz sees the opportunities as endless:  “ The lifestyle that being a Revive! franchisee gives me is going to really open up the opportunity to follow more of my passion, perhaps add to my car collection, but also to see more technicians out in the field, to grow the team with more team leaders and potentially even a unit further down the line.”

But what she’s really looking forward to is to delivering outstanding service to the people of Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Cromer and its surrounding areas: “The thing that's most exciting for me in running the business will be getting the customer reviews in, so seeing the Trust Pilot reviews, seeing the Google business reviews, and reading and hearing what people are really saying about the service that we're delivering for them.

“At the same time with every business, you recognise that there may be issues. So, I also, in a strange way, look forward to addressing those things and turning situations around, finding solutions for people, helping customers when they're they've had a crisis moment with their car and supporting them to bring it back looking the best it can.”

Liz is the latest woman to join the Revive! family. In an industry traditionally dominated by men, women feature at every level of the franchise, from joint owner Terry Mullen to main board members, staff and several husband and wife franchisee teams including owners of Revive! Gloucester and Bristol Central, Reena and Jai Patel, who were highly commended in the dynamic duo category of the 2025 BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards.
