Drain Doctor, one of the UK’s leading providers of drainage and emergency plumbing services and part of Neighbourly UK, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Acland as its new Managing Director.

With more than 20 years of franchising experience, including founding Cafe2U, the UK’s first mobile coffee franchise, Acland brings vast experience in building, scaling, and leading successful franchise networks, aligning perfectly with Drain Doctor's vision and values.

Under his leadership, Cafe2U grew to 85 franchisees nationwide before its sale in 2018, and it remains a respected and established van-based franchise today.

“Drain Doctor has a fantastic foundation as a long-established, trusted brand with many experienced franchisees,” Acland says.

“It has a well-earned reputation for professional standards and outstanding customer service, and what’s truly exciting is the opportunity to take that success even further.”

“With a Drain Doctor customer in every home and business in the country, there is a huge potential for growth. Our focus is on making sure Drain Doctor is the name everyone thinks of when faced with a drainage or emergency plumbing issue.”

Phil Carr, Head of Neighbourly UK, comments: “Tom’s record of growing and leading national franchise networks with service-based operations makes him a great addition to the leadership team.

“Our franchisees are at the heart of the communities they serve, delivering fast, reliable drainage solutions. With Tom’s leadership, we’re excited to build on this strong foundation, expanding our reach and helping even more homes and businesses."
