Marugame Udon Launches First South London Neighbourhood Kitchen In Bromley

Marugame Udon will open its first neighbourhood site in South London with the launch of a new kitchen in Bromley on Saturday 19th November.

Following six successful openings across the city, Marugame Udon will bring a taste of Japan's favourite Sanuki udon kitchen to the local residents of BR1. The 4,090 sq. ft restaurant with 180 covers is located in the heart of Bromley central to both Bromley North and South rail station.

Diners can expect to be greeted with the open-style kitchen where they will be in the centre of the hustle and bustle of the udon kitchen. Step inside and choose your udon bowl over the counter, opt for the traditional Kama Age (£3.45), the most traditional and purest way to eat udon or customer favourite Chicken Katsu Curry Udon (from £6.95). Jazz it up with tempura and omusubi sides then head to the ‘build your own’ condiment station with fresh chillies, ginger, and Japanese sauces to personalise your meal.

All Marugame Udon’s noodles are made fresh in-house throughout the day, using three simple ingredients wheat, salt and water, a traditional recipe which creates a chewier ‘mochi mochi’ texture of the Sanuki style thick udon noodle.

The speed of service, the impressive quality, and the value for money at Marugame makes it the ideal spot for families, groups of friends, or those who are dining alone and looking for a bite to eat while shopping or exploring the local neighbourhood. Marugame Udon offers casual and affordable dining, with a menu that is both fresh and affordable, with bowls of freshly made udon starting from just £3.45.

Keith Bird, Marugame Udon CEO said: “We are thrilled to be opening our first neighbourhood kitchen in South East London. We chose Bromley for its vibrant area and community feel and we’re so excited to expand Marugame out of central London. Our casual dining concept is key for more people to experience our udon and will fit perfectly into the atmosphere of the area.”

Marugame Udon will be giving away 500 FREE bowls of udon to celebrate the grand opening day on Saturday 19th November along with live Japanese Matsuri (Matsuri 祭り= Festival in Japanese) from 1:00-3:00PM. To claim one of the 500 FREE bowls simply join the Marugame club here and your FREE udon reward will be sent into your inbox. The rewards will be given away to the first 500 sign ups so hurry to bag yours! Marugame Udon made its UK and European debut in London last year with its flagship site off Liverpool Street, followed by five successful openings, The O2, Canary Wharf, St Christopher’s Place, Brent Cross and Oxford Circus. Marugame Udon’s new Bromley restaurant will be its seventh, continuing its mission to introduce udon to all.
