X-Press Legal Services, a leading property search franchise welcomes Newham family man and community leader, Habib Maljee, to its 27 strong owner network as he opens a new office in East London. He’s already making a great start, with several local solicitors and conveyancing professionals set to partner with X-Press.

X-Press Legal Services carries out a comprehensive range of property searches producing the reports required during property transactions. The newly established office covers the East London boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Lambeth, Newham, Redbridge, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

Habib launched the business this month, following a spell as an East London bus and taxi driver after running a family clothing business for over 30 years.  He is also involved with his local mosque in Newham where he undertakes a lot of charity and community work.  Mixing his entrepreneurial background with his ethos of a family-led business Habib will be including his family in his new franchise business venture.

He comments: “I knew I wanted to venture into the world of franchising and after visiting the National Franchise Exhibition last year and speaking to friends and contacts who already own several franchise businesses, I was impressed with the model offered by X-Press.”

Habib has already cultivated relationships with a number of local solicitors. He reports: “Due to the quality of the services X-Press offers I already have around six local solicitors keen to sign up to offer our property search facilities to their clients.  It helps that I am local and know the area like the back of my hand.  I think that people appreciate having someone ‘on the ground’ they can speak to and who they can rely on to produce their property searches and reports.”

X-Press Legal Services was founded in 1998 by Lynne Lister, former editor of a leading UK franchise magazine and her husband Dave Lister who has a financial services background, X-Press Legal really is a family affair.  Five members of the Lister family maintain key roles in the organisation, which operates an ‘open door’ policy for staff, franchisees and suppliers.

On-going sales support, mentoring and the X-Press Academy training programme create a nurturing environment, where franchisees are able to maintain their independence while also feeling part of a larger network.

Habib adds: “For me, the family franchise infrastructure model and support that X-Press offered was a perfect fit for my next business move.  My family and I are thrilled to have gone into business together and take great pride in the work we do. We are really looking forward to working with many more legal firms and conveyancers in the local area.”

The new East London X-Press Legal Services office offers property searches, environmental and risk reports and residential abortive transaction insurance, as well as many other useful conveyancing related products. In May, Habib intends to gather the local conveyancing sector together at a local CPD accredited event.
