Business results see Wagging Tails franchise flourish in 2013

Results for the first six months of 2013 have shown explosive growth for home dog boarding franchise Wagging Tails.

A nation of dog lovers have driven significant expansion for the company as owners look to make sure their pets are well looked after while they take a break themselves. Network turnover increased 73% year-on-year for January to June, boosted by the launch of three new Wagging Tails outlets in the Reading, Coventry and North London postcode areas to meet local demand.
Like-for-like sales were just as impressive, with turnover growth at 34% when the new franchises were taken out of the equation.

Husband-and-wife team Jim and Lisa Suswain have driven steady expansion of the business and are reaping the rewards of their hard work so far. The couple were understandably delighted with the impressive results, commenting: “We are really pleased with the level of growth over the last year. Our franchisees have done a fantastic job building up relationships with dog owners and fellow dog professionals in their territories.

“Owner feedback has been incredible and the increase in bookings this year illustrates the trust they have in the company. We have added three new franchises to our network with at least one more launching in September and we are really excited about what the future holds for Wagging Tails.”

Andy from Warwick recently used the service for the first time and said: “I was so impressed with the service provided by Wagging Tails.

“My dog Harriet is a rescue dog, with very specific needs, such as not being able to be left or confined away from people. She had been abused before we rescued her and used as a breeding machine, which has obviously left some psychological scars. Leaving her in a kennel was simply out of the question, so I was delighted to find that a service like Wagging tails even existed!

“Harriet was placed with Jo and Jake who were absolutely wonderful with both me and Harriet. I could tell from the minute I met them that they were real dog lovers and I felt really comfortable leaving Harriet in their hands. I didn’t worry about her once when I was away on holiday, as I would have done if she’d been in a kennel. When I picked her up it was clear how happy and settled she was. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this service again.”

Wagging Tails was founded in 2007 and began franchising at the end of 2010. It is aiming for national network coverage in the next three years.
