Interview with ex-Domino's multi-unit operator Shayban Alibrahim
Shayban Alibrahim’s decision to venture into the gelato industry was fueled by his passion for the product, his keen eye for market potential, and the promise of a strong return on investment. With a background as an experienced multi-unit operator for Domino’s, Shayban recognised the opportunity to bring artisanal gelato to the masses, particularly in coastal areas where tourists and locals alike are eager to indulge in unique flavours. His journey began with a visit to an Amorino store in Paris, which ignited his passion for artisanal gelato and ultimately led to a partnership with Amorino Franchise.
"I come from a background of managing 10s of Domino’s stores. In the 3rd quarter of 2023, I opened my first Amorino store in Cardiff. Seeing the potential and the positive response from customers, I am excited to expand further. I have plans to open stores in Bath, Exeter, and Brighton this year."

Since becoming a franchisee in 2023, Shayban has been instrumental in Amorino’s rapid growth in Southwest England, where the brand has become synonymous with indulgence and innovation. He has successfully launched the Cardiff location and has ambitious plans to expand further in the coming years.
Despite facing challenges, Shayban has persevered through resilience, resourcefulness, and guidance from the Amorino franchise team. A significant milestone in his journey was signing the Developers Agreement, which underscores his key role in shaping the brand’s future in the UK.
