From Corporate Finance to Business Ownership

When Fiona Perks launched Rosemary Bookkeeping Wyre Forest in 2019, she was looking for more than a career change. After spending 15 years working in finance and qualifying as a CIMA accountant, she wanted the opportunity to build her own business while achieving a better work-life balance for her young family.

Joining the Rosemary Bookkeeping network provided the perfect platform. Equipped with extensive financial expertise and backed by Rosemary’s proven systems and support, Fiona opened her bookkeeping business with a clear goal: helping local businesses stay organised, compliant and financially informed.

“I can’t wait to get started and help local businesses get their books organised,” Fiona said when she launched the business.

Creating Sustainable Growth

Over the years, Fiona has transformed her business from a start-up operation into one of the network’s standout performers.

A key factor in her success has been her commitment to strategic growth. Rather than simply increasing her client base, Fiona focused on building a strong operational foundation. By investing in her team and developing additional bookkeeping capacity, she ensured clients continued to receive reliable, accurate support during busy periods while enabling the business to scale sustainably.

Her efforts produced impressive results. In 2023, Fiona implemented a number of key business initiatives that helped Rosemary Bookkeeping Wyre Forest achieve more than £30,000 of growth in a single year. This achievement earned her the Rosemary Bookkeeping Growth Award at the network’s Spring Forum.

Recognition for Excellence

Fiona’s success has not gone unnoticed within the Rosemary network.

In 2025, she received the prestigious North Star Award for People, recognising her commitment to developing a strong team culture and investing in the people who help drive her business forward. The award highlighted her focus on building a capable bookkeeping team that consistently delivers excellent service to clients while supporting the continued growth of the business.

This accolade followed a series of previous awards that reflected both her business achievements and her contribution to the wider Rosemary network. Fiona has previously been recognised with the INVEST Award for Commitment and Dedication, celebrating her ongoing support of the Rosemary brand and her willingness to contribute to the development of the wider franchise community.

A Model for Franchise Success

Fiona’s journey demonstrates what can be achieved when industry experience is combined with determination, strong systems and the support of an established franchise network.

From launching her business in Wyre Forest with a vision for greater flexibility and independence, she has gone on to build an award-winning operation recognised for growth, commitment and leadership. Today, Rosemary Bookkeeping Wyre Forest continues to support businesses across the region with professional bookkeeping services while providing local employment opportunities and maintaining the high standards that have become Fiona’s trademark.

Her story is a powerful example of how franchise ownership can enable ambitious professionals to create successful, scalable businesses while achieving their personal and professional goals.
