Domino’s franchisee Lisa is on top of her game

Domino’s superstar Lisa Tobias - owner of 18 branches of the pizza provider - has triumphed in the Great British Franchisee Awards.

Modestly, the multi-franchisee with 13 outlets in Scotland and 5 in Northern Ireland attributes much of her success to the teams of people who work for her, but she does have a track record of success stretching back to when she was Domino’s UK & Ireland Manager Of The Year at the age of 21, and opened her first branch only two years later.

“My team are amazing,” says Lisa, “and having such a strong brand behind me has been such an influencer.

“If I’d just been an independent pizza shop I wouldn’t have been able to stand out in the same way as I can with Domino’s and its national coverage.

“I started as a pizza-maker and worked my way up so I know every single aspect of the job. That really helped me when I started my own franchise because i was able to train everybody and I knew how it was supposed to be done properly.

“It helped the team to have more respect for me because they knew I had done it and if it was busy I could jump in and make pizzas.

“When I go around stores now I can help them. I may not be as fast as I used to be, but I can still make them!

“It’s a real honour for me to have won an award like this - and an honour for the whole team, because although it’s my name that’s on it, I couldn’t have done it without any of them.”

Lisa, who employs 700 people and has been with Domino’s for 22 years, won the newly-created award from WhichFranchise.com for being an outstanding franchisee in all aspects of her business.

The Great British Franchisee Awards recognise franchisee exceptional performance and business experience, ability to drive business growth, staff retention, customer satisfaction, community involvement, inspired leadership, and franchise involvement.

The awards are run by whichfranchise, supported by Lloyds Bank, BDO, AMO Consulting and Chantry Group.
