PVC Vendo awarded Safe Contractor accreditation
Mobile professional vehicle cleaning company PVC Vendo has recently been awarded Safe Contractor accreditation.
PVC Vendo operatives wash commercial vehicles at their depots or yards using an on-board washing system. If wastewater can not be legally disposed of onsite, it is removed and disposed of legally off site.
The company was founded in 1981 and franchised in 1989. Darren Taylor bought the business in 2018, bringing it into the Taylor Made Franchising group which now owns or part owns nine franchise operations.
Safe Contractor accreditation helps managers anticipate, manage and avoid risks that endanger their people, their operation and the planet. It enables them to deliver an integrated approach to managing health, safety and environmental, social and governance (ESG) across their business, their contractors and their supplier network.
The process includes looking at workplace risk assessments, health, safety and environmental policies, guidance and training, equipment maintenance, safe handling of chemicals, purchasing and supplies, waste management, staff welfare and training.
David Callister director of PVC Vendo said: “We are pleased to have been awarded our Safe Contractor status. As a company which has been trading for over forty years none of these were new areas for us, but it has been good to formalise our systems. We had been receiving a few enquiries from potential customers about our Safe Contractor status so it made sense to gain our formal accreditation. It was a useful process to go through, ensuring we continue to deliver a safe service to our customers and our staff. The news has been warmly received by our customers and we’ve won new customers as a result.’
