Former bfa Chairman and Olympic Gold Medallist reward Premier Sport Franchisees for business success
Former bfa Chairman and successful franchisor Melvin Lusty, joined Olympic Gold Medallist and Businessman Duncan Goodhew MBE in the stunning surroundings of Dunstan Hall Golf & Country Club, to celebrate the successes of over 100 Premier Sport franchisees.
This annual event brings together franchisees from all four corners of the country to not only celebrate success of the past 12months, but also learn and impart knowledge with fellow business owners to ensure the next 12months will be even more successful.
Joining the network of franchisees was over 20 head office staff members and external experts in areas of business, finance, product development and sales. All of whom provided franchisees with new and informative strategies which they can use within their business.
A highlight and proof the franchise model works was the induction of three new members into the Premier Sport ‘500 Club’ this award is presented for those turning over in excess of £500k in the previous business year. But equally as pleasing was to present eight ‘250 Club’ and 29 ‘100 Club’ franchisees with recognition of their achievements and business growth.“2014 has been a great year for our network, with significant growth across all areas of the country. And whilst this is obviously pleasing, it also demonstrates that more young people than ever before are gaining access to even more high quality sport and physical activity.” Comments David Batch CEO.
As well as the ‘Club’ awards there was also recognition for those that have excelled in specific areas of their business, these included:
- Dan Harris and Emma Robson (Chesterfield & Sheffield), Premier Performing Arts New Business Award (pictured right with Duncan Goodhew MBE)
- Tony Life (Essex) , Golden Mile Newly Activated Schools Award
- Michael Barwick, Katy York and Sam Newman, Activity Professionals Excellence Award
- Danny Bloomfield (Kent & Suffolk), Community Engagement Award
And to round off a successful National Training Event there was awards for the Premier Sport ‘Newcomer of the Year’ and the prestigious ‘Franchise of the Year’ awards.
The winners in these categories were:
- Matt Ewer (Ruby and Nuneaton) ‘2014 Newcomer of the Year’
- James Jennison & Andrew Mellors (Derby) ‘2014 Franchisee of the Year’ (pictured right with Melvin Lusty)
Followng the event, Newcomer of the Year, Matt Ewer (pictured top left) commented:
“From the perspective of a franchisee who owns multiple territories and is very keen to own and run a sizeable business the recent NTE was two days very well spent.
